The Belize Barrier Reef Reserve system is the 2nd largest in the world and runs offshore for the entire length of the country, north to south, for approximately 188 miles. It is home to a large diversity of plant and aquatic animals and is one of the most diverse ecosystems. Behind those reefs are spectacular Belize islands, over 400 of them, many small and isolated and just waiting to be explored.
